Kartik Labhshetwar runs this personal portfolio, blog, and free newsletter. You can browse without an account. This site does not sell personal data or run advertising.
Newsletter
When you subscribe, your email address and the page you signed up from are sent to Kit to manage your subscription and deliver new posts. You receive a confirmation email before joining the mailing list. Kit may record email delivery and engagement information as part of its service.
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future newsletters; it does not automatically delete your subscriber record. Contact me to request deletion. See Kit's explanation of unsubscribing and deletion.
Analytics
Databuddy measures page views, navigation, link clicks, interactions, and page performance. Its script receives request and browser information to provide these analytics. You can block the analytics script and still use the site. See Databuddy's privacy policy.
Article views and browser storage
The article counter uses a random first-party cookie named reader_id, which expires after one year. Upstash Redis stores reader identifiers against article slugs to avoid counting repeat visits. These records currently have no automatic expiry; clearing the cookie does not remove records already stored. The identifier does not include your name or email address and is not used for advertising.
Your theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing site data removes this preference and the reader cookie.
Hosting and abuse prevention
Cloudflare hosts the site and processes requests, including IP addresses and request metadata. When newsletter rate limiting is enabled, Upstash stores an IP-based attempt counter with a ten-minute expiry to limit signup abuse. Hosting and service providers apply their own retention practices to operational records.
GitHub and external services
The activity chart loads public GitHub data through this site's server. Some avatars load directly from GitHub, which receives normal request metadata. Following links to GitHub, Cal.com, social profiles, or project sites takes you to services with their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe, clear browser storage, or block analytics. To ask about information held about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, contact me. The date above changes when this policy is updated.
